While Sarah has her hands full reworking a classic cuckoo clock to give it a colourful twist, upcycling whizz Jay Blades gets to work stamping his own unique style on a pair of bamboo chairs. But what can the visionary team of furniture restorers Tom and Johnny do to revolutionise a clapped-out old kitchen unit?
14:15-15:15 (Repeat) brand new series.13/26.Escape to the Country.(Series 16) (60 minute versions) (Peak District).Nicki Chapman helps a campervan-loving couple with a £400,000 budget find a perfect rural property within range of the Peak District. Along the way, Nicki turns her hand to some unique woodcraft with Britain's last traditional bowl turner.
15:15-16:15 brand new series.5/6.Shop Well for Less.(Series 2).Steph McGovern and Alex Jones are in north London to meet the Parmar family. Graphic designer Sachin and his wife Nisha have two sons, five-year-old Sai and two-year-old Druv. They love the finer things in life and when it comes to shopping, design is everything.
Nisha and Sachin love to entertain and have recently renovated their kitchen. But this design-conscious couple believe you have to pay to get the best quality and design. Can Alex and Steph convince them that they don't have to spend a fortune to get the look they're after?
To show the Parmars the reality of their overspending, Alex and Steph resort to shock tactics. They raid the family home and, armed with the evidence, they create a pop-up shop filled with the contents of the family home. Will this force them to face up to their spendthrift ways?
To really challenge them, Alex and Steph give their home a bit of a makeover, taking away their usual brands and repackaging them. Some will be cheaper, but to really put their product loyalty to the test, some items won't have been swapped at all. How will this design-focused couple cope with their debranded products?
From crockery to candles and kitchen gadgets to kitchen furniture, have Alex and Steph shown the design-obsessed Parmars an alternative way of shopping that could save them money in the future?
Professor Avi Shankar shows how brands use their packaging to catch our eye. Five travel mugs are put through their paces to see which one comes out on top, and Alex gets the Parmars to blind test three stand mixers to see if price really does equal quality.
The experiment is over, but have the Parmars embraced enough new products and changed their shopping and spending ways to save money?
16:15-16:25 Lifeline.(Tiny Tickers).Gabby Logan presents an appeal on behalf of Tiny Tickers, a national charity working to increase the detection rate of heart defects in children. Gabby's brother was unaware he had heart defect and died when he was just 15. Even though around 5,000 babies leave hospital with a heart problem, less than half of those are detected prior to birth. Baby Tommy's symptoms weren't picked up by health professionals, and he tragically died at just 11 days old. Tiny Tickers work with sonographers to help early detection at the 20-week pregnancy scan in order to prevent deaths like this. Baby Rocco's heart defect was spotted during his mum Lisa's 20-week pregnancy scan, enabling him to have surgery as soon as he was born. That early detection saved his life.

18:35-18:45 Regional News and Weather
18:45-19:45 Countryactivisfile.(Lanarkshire).The Clyde valley in Lanarkshire was once known as the 'fruit basket of Scotland'. Matt Baker explores the rise and fall of what was once a major force in Scotland's food industry. The orchards are in danger of being lost from the countryside, so locals throughout the valley are bringing them back to life.
Ellie Harrison meets Warren Bader, an urban beekeeper who fills Lanarkshire's scraps of green with beehives, renting them out to local companies and training their staff in beekeeping skills. His pollination plan aims to improve the wellbeing of people as well as bees and is a hit with local businesses from hotels to construction.
Ellie also takes a wild walk along the Falls of Clyde, which has some of the oldest ancient woodland in Scotland. At this time of year the forest floor is a carpet of wildflowers, each one telling a story about the ecology of the landscape. But it is birds she is here to see. The fast-flowing water here is perfect for dippers who, because they depend on water invertebrates like caddis fly and mayfly larvae, are an indicator of clean rivers.
Sean Fletcher is just downstream from Ellie on the River Clyde at New Lanark Mill. The area wasn't just famed for fruit but also for textile production. Sean reveals how the landscape shaped the vision and powered the mills that still stand here centuries later - still creating yarn on the original machinery. We hear how the river powered the people and textile production.
Adam Henson and Charlotte Smith visit a housing estate in Newport Pagnell to meet a young townie who is carving out a successful career in agriculture. They are searching for Countryfile's Young Farmer of the Year - part of the R4's Food and Farming Awards.
Tom Heap is looking at the growing problem of microplastics in the oceans, but is there an even bigger problem much closer to home?
